Paint Your View

The view from your porch. The dock at sunrise. The hole you finally birdied. The barn your grandfather built. I paint the places people love, in oil and palette knife, so the light you remember stays on your wall.

Most of my commissions come from people who own a home in the mountains or on the water and want the view they bought it for. Some are gifts: a painting of the family beach house for a parent, the first home for newlyweds, a favorite trail for a retirement.

How it works

  1. Tell me about it. Send a few photos of the place and a note about what matters to you in the scene: the time of day, the season, what you want left in or out. If the place is within reach of Blowing Rock or Marco Island, I'll often come and paint it on site.
  2. We agree on size and price. I'll suggest a size that fits the scene and the wall, and confirm the price before any paint is mixed. A 50% deposit reserves your place in the schedule.
  3. I paint. Allow 6–8 weeks. I'll send a progress photo partway through so you can see it taking shape.
  4. Delivery. The balance is due when the painting is finished. I'll wrap it for shipping or hand it to you in person.

Sizes and prices

Size Suits Starting at
11 × 14 in A hallway, a bedroom, a gift that ships easily from $550
16 × 20 in Over a dresser or a small mantel from $800
24 × 30 in Over a sofa or a fireplace from $1,400
30 × 40 in A great room or entry wall from $2,000

Final price depends on the detail in the scene, framing, and whether I paint it on site; I'll quote it before any paint is mixed. Larger sizes, diptychs and framing available; ask. Prices include a 1½-inch gallery-wrapped canvas with painted edges, ready to hang. Shipping within the continental U.S. is at cost.

Figures and faith

Alongside landscapes I paint figurative work and pieces for churches, chapels and memorials. “Adoration,” painted for an Advent project, and the collection at UNC Cancer Hospital are examples. If you are commissioning for a congregation or a hospital, I'm glad to talk about what the space needs.
